Where To Look for Things To Do

Lakes Region Tourism Association
LRTA is our official tourism promotion agency. While their primary mission is to provide information to visitors to the area, it is also a great place for locals to find information about fun things to do all year long.

Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber has nearly 500 members spanning 18 communities in the region. Their website is a great resource for information about what is going on in the region.

Livability Lakes Region
This is an online magazine featuring all the great things about our area.

NH365
A statewide listing of events of all shapes and sizes. Search "NH – Lakes Region" to find out what is happening in the Belknap County area. This is a great source of information about live music, art galleries, and smaller venues that offer a more intimate experience and eclectic mix of programming.

Fun on the Water

Recreation in the Lakes Region revolves around water because it’s everywhere! While visitors to Lake Winnipesaukee often gawk at some of the lavish estates that dot the shoreline, locals are proud to have preserved public access to our beautiful lakes for everyone

  • Boating & Fishing: There are many public boat launches in Belknap County listed by NH Fish & Game. In the winter, these spots make great points of entry for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing adventures on the ice because parking is available at most boat launches. Same goes for ice fishing. Check with your local police or fire department before venturing out on the ice to be sure it is safe.

  • Public Beaches: Nearly all the communities in our region offer town beaches for local residents. If you are new to the area, ask your town clerk or tax collector where you can get a sticker for your car so that you will be allowed entry to your local beach. Most beaches are operated by the Parks & Recreation Departments of the towns. Learn More.
